Established in 1988 under the auspices of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)—Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India—the ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun (ICAR–NRCM) is the world’s only premier institution dedicated exclusively to the research, development, and conservation of Mithun (Bos frontalis).
